I have been a frequent visitor to
Dartmoor since my childhood, and even
today I wonder what my fascination is
with the place, It can be a bleak and
lonely place at times. Yet on the
other hand it can be incredibly
wonderful, the small villages and towns
in and around it are quant to say the
least. Our favourite is the market town
of Tavistock and the near by village of
Peter Tavy
Dartmoor is best known for the
wild ponies and sheep and cattle that
roam all over it, Dartmoor Prison,
and also for the world famous Ten Tors
event which is held on Dartmoor every
year. |
