St Ives, Cornwall. |
| |
|
I love St Ives, It's
unique, with it's crystal blue waters, golden sands and a
mild sub-tropical climate, It's a real gem. |

Wonderful to walk around and explore, I can understand
why it is such a favourite with everyone. Come rain or shine
my Wife and I visit it through out the
year, believe it or not but most of the
pictures here where taken in the winter
months of March and November. Lots to
see and do, shops are good (And that's
from someone who hates shopping) |

Life here is
revolves around the harbour where boats
still land good catches of fish
on the ancient granite quays for the
local restaurants, St Ives has some of
some of the finest restaurants in the
UK. A maze of tiny cobbled streets to
wander through, lined by fishermen's
cottages, with a breathtaking seaside
views to greet you at the end of each
one, we love it. |

The Tate
Gallery at St. Ives is part of the Tate
Gallery in London, a stunning building
with a number of exhibitions of local
and national works. The Gallery is above
the surfing beach of Porthmeor ( my
favourite ) Allied to Tate St Ives is
the Barbara Hepworth Museum, a lasting
memorial to the great sculptress who
lived and worked in St. Ives at her
Trewyn Studio. Her workshop has been
carefully preserved and made accessible;
the gardens and house contain many
examples of her work and some of her
finest pieces (see my pictures) again
is worth a look. If you are ever going to
Cornwall you must go to St Ives. |
